Roasted Bacon Wrapped Grapes – Recipe

Roasted Bacon Wrapped Grapes - Recipe

I realize that today is Friday, and I don’t normally post recipes on Fridays. However, bacon wrapped grapes. Uh huh. I think you’re going to want to see this one.

grapes

It’s two ingredients – bacon and grapes (mind blown?), and yet this is one of those cases where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Who knew that something this simple would have so much flavor?

First of all, there’s the roasted grapes. I know, I know. People are roasting everything these days, but trust me on this one. Grapes are worth roasting. The sweetness deepens to somewhere between wine and jam. Then you take that flavor and wrap it all up in salty, smoky bacon. You know you want some.

So if you’re thinking you need to add a little fruit to your game day table, you know, to balance all the meat, then why not some grapes…wrapped in meat?

Side note: We tested these with both thin sliced bacon and thick cut bacon and found that the thin bacon works best for a balance of flavor between the bacon and the grapes.

Side note 2: Can you imagine these brushed with some sweet chili sauce or a mixture of apricot preserves and hot sauce?
