A new day, a new food challenge. If you follow me on Instagram, you’d know that as soon as I finished the Whole30 I started my next food challenge. The ladies over at Simple Green Smoothies created a simple and delicious challenge – The 30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge. They challenge you to drink a green smoothie a day for thirty days. You can keep eating as you normally would. They mean to show you how the simple addition of a green smoothie – full of fresh fruits and leafy greens- to your daily routine can help improve your overall health.
I came across the challenge while searching for smoothie recipe suggestions for my newfound smoothie bowl addiction. The most recent challenge started July 1st, so since I had already missed the start date, I decided I’d just do my own 30 day challenge once I finished the Whole30. I figured that it would be a nice way to play off the clean healthy feeling the Whole30 left me with. If it goes well, I think I’ll join them for their next live challenge in October.
I’m a few days into my challenge, and I have to say, it’s definitely yummy. Aldwin and I have been having the green smoothies for breakfast every morning, so I tweak the usual green smoothies to be a little thicker. That way we can eat them in bowls with the addition of nuts and a bit more fruit for more staying power.
Stick with me as I’ll be sharing some of the winning recipes I’ve come up with or adapted to work as smoothie bowls.
